With air traffic increasing all the time, the opening of a new exhibition centre and all the other events associated with a dynamic city on the move, Toulouse is expanding its hotel capacity to meet rising demand: NH Hotel by the airport (4*), Mama Shelter in the city centre (4*) and a new Hilton hotel near the train station, to name a few.
In 2018, the city centre is poised to get its first Mama Shelter hotel - a chain known for its original concept and lively interiors - and a wave of other openings is set to follow in the luxury accommodation sector.
The Spanish chain NH Hotel also plans to open a hotel at the airport. With 148 rooms and 1,000 m2 of facilities for meetings and seminars, as well as a sauna, this hotel, like the others, is sure to find a solid customer base, given the increase in air traffic and the high concentration of economic activity in the area around the airport.
These openings are a prelude to that of the new Exhibition Centre, scheduled for 2021 and located to the north of Toulouse.
The Centre will be the perfect host for major international events. With this perspective in mind, Qatar Airways group has hired an audit firm with the aim of opening a 250-room, 5-star hotel close to the site, around 2020.
