France enters the list of the most beautiful sites in the world to watch the skies, with the majestic Pic du Midi in 6th place.
Jamie Carter, the British journalist with the daily “The Telegraph”, has included it in his list of ten of the world’s best places for stargazing. He was captivated by the Pic du Midi and its history when he visited it in September 2014.
Just one hour away from Toulouse, the Pic du Midi is now one among Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, the Atacama Desert in Chile or the Cusco Planetarium in Peru. A showcase for a whole range of mountains but also for an original cultural scene, with concerts organised in summer at the summit, the Pic du Midi remains a particularly popular site for scientists from all over the world.
