Wednesday, 7 February, 2018

Two years after Manchester, Toulouse has been selected to host the 8th edition of ESOF (EuroScience Open Forum), making the pink city the European City of Science in July 2018.

The 8th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), the largest interdisciplinary meeting on science and innovation in Europe, will be held from 9th to 14th of July 2018. And the privilege of hosting this first edition in France goes to Toulouse!

This prestigious six-day event features several programmes: Science / Science Policy / Careers / Science to Business / Media and Science Communication. The content is developed by an international committee on the basis of proposals from the scientific community based on current topics related to science and technology.

Created in 2004 by EuroScience, this European biennial event brings together nearly 4,000 researchers, sociocultural, economic and political stakeholders from around the world. It enjoys worldwide media coverage with the scientific community and the general public.

In parallel with the scientific programme, the “Science in the City” festival will delight the general public with a rich programme of fun activities and scientific events in the districts of the city of Toulouse.

The event is sponsored by the Université Fédérale Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées, with many partners including Toulouse Métropole.
