Siemens chooses Toulouse as site for its metro system world headquarters

Monday, 18 January, 2016

German company Siemens announced recently that it would establish the world headquarters for its driverless metro systems in Toulouse by merging its French activities, currently split between the Paris region, the north of France and the Toulouse suburbs.

The driverless metro system world headquarters in Toulouse will accommodate around one hundred employees in a 10,000m² building located in the western suburbs of Toulouse. Siemens will gradually transfer its research and development, engineering, project management and maintenance teams for driverless metro turnkey projects in the VAL (Automatic Light Vehicles) line, which already equips Toulouse’s first two lines.
