Toulouse-Blagnac reaches the 8 million passenger milestone The year 2017 is off to a great start for Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, which passed the 8 million passenger mark in 2016. Traffic has increased by 5.4% compared to last year, accounted for, in particular, by the arrival of new low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and Flybe, as well as an array of new destinations.

Last year, precisely 8,081,179 passengers stepped onto the tarmac of Toulouse airport. Regular national traffic is increasing (+2.6%). The same is true of regular international traffic (+9.5%), due especially to destinations such as Milan-Malpensa (+328.1%), Heraklion (+73.2%) and Malaga (+45.7%). Low-cost traffic, up by 17.6%, will once again boost traffic growth this year, representing 32.2% of total traffic. Air traffic will be increased according to a controlled aircraft-movement plan. By using higher-capacity aircraft, the airlines have maintained the number of takeoffs and landings (+3.5%, 95,192 movements) while continuing to meet the ever-increasing demand of passengers for air travel.
