Destinations for which only an identity card is required

• Inside the European Union
• Inside French overseas department or territory : like Reunion
• For journeys inside certain foreign countries as part of package tours only : Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech republic...

Warning : certain countries like Egypt and the Dominican Republic require the new protected indentity card (plasticized).

Destinations for which a passport is required

In other destinations, French citizens must have a valid passport.

Up to the age of 14, your children must be included on your passport.
From 15 years onwards, children must have their own passport.

Contact your travel agent or airline for more information before travelling.

Warning : in certain countries, the travellers must present a passport which will be valid several months after their return. In Egypt, Poland, Algeria and Russia, the validity must be more than 6 months after the return in France.
We recommend that you keep a photocopy of all the documents you are taking with you at home (in case the originals are lost or stolen abroad) and bring at least 2 passport photos with you.
