In addition to the free luggage allowance in the aircraft hold, you are entitled to carry at your own risk, one item of cabin luggage per person and it must not exceed 115 cm (length + width + height).
New regulations will soon be implemented Europe-wide. They should be applicable from may 2008 and will impose new cabin luggage requirements (56 x 45 x 25 cm). You will be informed of these changes as soon as they come into force.
In principle, larger objects such as wheel chairs, collapsible pushchairs (etc.) are also accepted.
Aircraft hold luggage
Only standard luggage may be checked in to the aircraft hold. Large objects will be sent as freight. For other luggage such as bikes, skis, (etc.), contact your airline.
Registered luggage will be transported free of charge in the aircraft hold and this is known as "free baggage allowance". Different airlines apply different restrictions, i.e. either weight restrictions will be applied or there will be a limit on the number of items of luggage you can take with you. Restrictions also vary according to the destination and ticket type. For excess luggage, you must pay a certain amount of tax per kilo or per additional item of luggage.
Note : to avoid your luggage being damaged, do not attach anything to it (i.e. belts or straps).
Free baggage allowance - in general
The average permitted weight is 20kg in economy class, 30kg in business class, 40kg in 1st class and 15kg for charter flights.
