2019 Review and Future Plans for 2020

Published January 18, 2020

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport has progressed over the last three years at a pace that has thrust it into a new dimension. Three years, during which it welcomed 2 million additional passengers in a totally redesigned infrastructure.

Following on from this growth, stronger than the average growth of its counterparts, came a period of consolidation.

We have not, however, held back on our commitments. This past year we have shown our determination to anchor our business in a sustainable development logic. And these are not just words, but deeds, with for example ACA 3 certification, a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050, an electric moped and car service for our users, the launch of a hydrogen production and distribution station, and a further decrease in aircraft movements.

We then took a moment to catch our breath before setting out again, stronger than ever. Which is just as it should be, because the competition is strong, with European hubs vying to attract airlines and offer their passengers the best access in the world.

We are committed to succeeding, with conviction and pride.

Conviction, because 2020 marks a new stage in the development of our company, with the arrival of a new shareholder, the Eiffage Group. Also because this year will see the first concrete results of our groundwork aimed at accommodating long-haul flights: Air Canada has placed its faith in our airport with a scheduled service between Toulouse and Montreal. All stakeholders are actively contributing to making this a success, from the airport itself to professionals in the tourism industry and economic sector.

Pride, because we too are taking up the challenge of committing to excellence in customer service. Our teams are already on board: we intend to become a European reference for customer satisfaction. We set off from the starting blocks and our first strides have been encouraging: after three years of imagining a new terminal experience, the ACI World quality standard has ranked us above average for French airports for 2019 in terms of overall passenger satisfaction.

It will be a long-distance race, during which we will keep our eyes firmly on the road ahead. Now that we have taken a short break, we are ready to start another lap.

Philippe Crébassa, Chairman of the Executive Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport
